„Michael Klant hat ein neues Verfahren entdeckt. Er hat ihm den Namen Aquatypie gegeben, der den Zwischenbereich andeutet, in dem es sich bewegt. Aquatypien sind unwiederholbare Unikate. Es handelt sich um Aquarelle ohne Pigment und Fotogramme ohne Gegenstände. Unter der Einwirkung von Wasser, Wind und Sonnenlicht entstehen auf Reisen an verschiedenen Orten der Welt seit 2017 aleatorische Formverläufe und Farbabstufungen mit magischen Blautönen, die an Wolkenbildungen erinnern. Dies verbindet die Aquatypien, die im Kunstverein Kirchzarten erstmals ausgestellt werden, mit anderen Werkgruppen Klants, mit den Fotoarbeiten ebenso wie mit den Bannerflugaktionen." Das aleatorische Verfahren der Aquatypie, entwickelt von Michael Klant, ist die Weiterführung des Chemogramms aus der Serie der „2000 Light Works“. Es entsteht ebenfalls auf photosensitivem Papier unter der Einwirkung des Lichts an den verschiedensten Orten. Im Gegensatz zum Chemogramm verdankt sich die Aquatypie nicht dem Auftrag von Chemikalien, sondern nur von Wasser. Trotz augenscheinlicher Ähnlichkeiten im Ergebnis unterscheidet sich das Verfahren von dem des Aquarells, da dem Wasser kein Pigment beigemischt wird. Aufgrund des Eisengehalts in der Emulsion können einige Stellen während des Entstehungsprozesses leicht korrodieren. /
The aleatory procedure of the aquatype, developed by Michael Klant, emerges from the chemogram series „2000 Light Works“. It is also based on photosensitive paper exposed to sunlight at various places throughout the world. In contrast to the chemogram, the aquatype does not come into being by application of chemicals, but merely of water. Despite an apparent resemblance, the procedure is distinct from that of the aquarelle, since the water is not pigmented. Due to the ferreous coating, some parts can corrode mildly during the process.
